Miniaturisation means manufacturers need surface mounting technology to deliver more than ever before. That’s why we created STH terminal blocks and connectors. Small products require miniature components. The smaller the components get, the greater the need for robotic (rather than human) positioning. Traditionally, compact high precision terminal blocks required some manual intervention, but manual intervention increases production time, cost and the risk of human error.
Hitaltech’s STH (SMD Through the Hole) components eliminate the need for manually positioning terminal blocks or male connectors. Instead, a simple two-stage process sees STH terminal blocks and/or male connectors positioned via pick-and-place and then reflow soldered (similar to PiP – Pin in Paste and THR – Through Hole Reflow technology). All components are made of insulating material classified MSL 1 (Moisture Sensitivity Level), according to the IPC / JEDEC J-STD-020E standard and are immune to the blistering effect caused by the absorption of moisture. With components mounted on reel, tray or tape to match your mounting technology, STH terminal blocks and connectors cut production time, cut cost, improve quality and enable greater product innovation and miniaturisation.
